Baby Shower Gift Guide for New Moms (What She’ll Actually Use + Love)

Products we'd love to highlight for your upcoming baby shower.

Hey there, it's Bri, the IBCLC (aka “the boob expert”). I’ve worked with thousands of families over the years as a registered nurse and lactation consultant, so you better believe I know what actually gets used in the postpartum period.

With Baby Shower season coming up, this topic came up and honestly, it’s one of my favorites. Because if you’ve ever been newly postpartum, you know this:

The best gifts are the ones that make daily life easier, more comfortable, and just a little more supported.

Not more stuff.
Not more clutter.
Just thoughtful, practical, and actually helpful.

So here are some of our go-to favorites (both from me and what our Breezy Babies moms love most):

Babywearing = One of the Best Postpartum Tools

Let’s start with one of the most underrated essentials: a good wrap or carrier.

I would include a good wrap or carrier like Ergo or the Momcozy wrap. Babywearing is one of the best tools to utilize in the postpartum period.

You’re getting:

  • Built-in skin-to-skin time

  • Hands-free support (huge win)

  • A calm, regulated baby close to you

Plus it counts as tummy time 😉

Bonus points if you take it outside:
Fresh air, movement, and sunshine are so important for all humans, especially in those early postpartum days when it’s easy to feel stuck inside.

The Allie Bra (Because Leaking Milk is Real)

Let’s talk about something no one fully prepares you for:

Leaking milk. Especially in those first 12 weeks, before you hit your “baseline”.

And who likes waking up in the middle of the night in a puddle of milk? No one.

That’s why I always recommend having a really good, supportive nursing bra like the Allie Bra that's specifically designed to SLEEP in:

  • Holds nursing pads in place

  • Keeps you dry and comfortable

  • Gives your body some much-needed support

  • Comfortable enough to sleep in
  • Stretches with your fluctuating boobs

And honestly… it’s cute, which is not something you can always say about postpartum bras.

Postpartum Sets (Comfort + Cute = Yes Please)

This is one of those small things that makes a big difference in how you feel day to day.

Hot off the press, and I’m obsessed with this postpartum set.

TLMB new postpartum sets are:

  • Adorable

  • Comfy

  • Actually functional for feeding

  • Gives you full coverage for when you're ready for visitors
  • Easy to feed in
  • Built in bra

And let’s be real… those are not two things you always get in the first few weeks after giving birth.

Having something soft, easy to nurse in, and still makes you feel like yourself? That’s a win.

P.S. Will you choose pink or blue? Such a hard choice!

A Good Pump (Even If You’re Not Sure Yet)

I would also include a good hand pump like the Medela hand pump—or an electric breast pump if you're returning to work.

Even if you’re planning to exclusively breastfeed, having a pump on hand can:

  • Relieve engorgement

  • Help build a stash if needed

  • Give you flexibility when life happens

A simple hand pump is one of my favorite “just in case” tools. Small, effective, and easy to use.

A Few Extra Favorites Moms Always Love

A few more ideas that consistently come up from our Breezy Babies families:

  • Soothing nipple care for those early days

  • Extra pump parts (trust me on this one)

  • A giant water bottle (we love this one) + easy snacks

  • Meal delivery or freezer meals (arguably the best gift of all)

Because postpartum isn’t just about the baby—it’s about supporting mom in a real, practical way.

The Big Picture

The best Baby Shower gifts aren’t about being fancy—they’re about being thoughtful.

Think:

  • Making feeding easier

  • Supporting recovery

  • Creating comfort in the day-to-day

Because those early weeks? They’re beautiful, but they’re also a lot.

And the right support can make all the difference.

If you’re building your own postpartum setup or gifting a new mom in your life, you truly can’t go wrong with any of these.
